St Martin's, Cornish Name Brechiek, which means "dappled island", is the northernmost populated island of the Isles of Scilly with a year-round resident population of approximately 140. Just 2 miles long from top to bottom and with an area of 237 hectares (0.92 square miles), St. Martin's is home to some of the finest beaches in the British Isles.
